Meghan Redmond - 2019 Alaska Assistant Principal of the Year

Congratulations to "Chief" Ivan Blunka School Assistant Principal Meghan Redmond, who has received the 2019 Alaska Association of Secondary School Principals 2019 Assistant Principal of the Year.

Meghan has been employed with Southwest Region Schools for nine years, first as lead teacher at the Twin Hills School, then as Assistant Principal at "Chief" Ivan Blunka School.

As Principal Robin Jones said in her nomination letter, "There is no one more deserving on the planet than Meghan Redmond! To say that she goes above and beyond in her position is truly an understatement. She is highly organized, resourceful, and creative in her professional practice while using a personable approach that has allowed her to develop quality relationships with the students, staff, and community. Regardless of the time commitment or any challenges along the way, Meghan works tirelessly to ensure that our students have every possible opportunity afforded to them. Beyond the sound guidance and friendship, what I appreciate most about Meghan’s partnership is how she can naturally anticipate how to best meet our unique school needs and compliments our administrative team perfectly.”
