2018 ASTE Technology Leadership Award - Kyle Schneider

At the February 2018 Alaska Society for Technology in Education conference, Student Support Specialist Kyle Schneider received the Technology Leadership Award for Outstanding Technology Support.

From his nomination letter by Dillingham City School District's Janice Bullock, "Kyle is perhaps most known around the state as “the guy who will help you with PowerSchool”. In the Bristol Bay region and around Alaska, if a school tech needs help with PowerSchool, many will call Kyle. In his own time, Kyle maintains and updates the AK PSUG. His willingness to share information and help others, even those not in his own district, learn to use PowerSchool better and more efficiently is common knowledge in the Alaska Tech Community."

Southwest Region Schools State & Federal Programs Director Jon Clouse added, "He listens to what people need, thinks on it, then he goes into Code Monkey status, and at the end of this process will come out with a solution the person originally asking for help didn’t even know could happen.” Kyle’s talent is listening to people, identifying the real challenges and then creating real usable time-saving solutions."
