Migrant Program Information

A primary goal of the migrant program is to increase literacy at home and assist in improving educational opportunities for migrant children to help meet the challenging state academic content, graduate from high school, provide post-secondary support, and remove educational barriers.

In 2024-2025, there were 321 migratory children in Southwest Region School District, 50% of the student population.

All eight sites in the district have a migrant coordinator who helps organize family nights and supports student-selected book distribution.
